Apple Bread Pudding

1.5 lbs old bread
3 apples cut in 1cm cubes
1 cup raisins soaked in hot rum for 15min
4 eggs
1 cups sugar
1 t cinnamon
some ground nutmeg
2cm^2 ground ginger
1 pack vanilla sugar
4 cups milk
2 T molasses
1/4cup flax seeds

  1. Beat eggs and sugar, add spices.
  2. Heat milk with molasses until warm, not hot! Beat milk into egg mixture.
  3. Preheat oven to 350F
  4. Soak bread in milk mixture.
  5. Mix bread mixture with apples and raisins and spread into pan(s).
  6. Bake 70min, let rest for 15min before serving.
