Gulaschsuppe and update

Our little picky eater ate (part of) the Gulaschsuppe. Small steps in the right (speak eat more veggies and meat) direction.

We've been opening an Adventskalender every morning and although he asks every evening to open it again, he has been pretty good about waiting until the next morning.

Language wise he is picking up so many new words, and is starting to use past tense, sentences are getting longer and longer (Papa, I sit here, so I can watch you.) Still quite a bit of mixing going on, although more with his Papa than with me. ;-) Although the difference between Weihnachtsmann und Weihnachtsbaum und Tannenbaum und Nikolaus are all still very vague.

There is a lot of talking about Christmas and Nikolaus lately around the house. Our tree is decorated, we are eating Lebkuchen and Plaetzchen, hot cider or hot chocolate, reading Winter and Christmas books. Silvan is painting Nikolaus and Weihnachtsbaeume (at least that's his proclaimed intention). Christmas songs are being sung, and the Christmastree is constantly being redecorated by Silvan.

We are watching the squirrels hissing and jumping and munching breakfast in the garden.

Silvan loves it when we read books to him, and the stories are getting longer and longer, and on occasions he will read the book to us.

Silvan is now also at Daycare without diapers - yeah! He sometimes asks to go by himself, but mostly we/the teachers need to remind him, but so far he's been accident-free.

Silvan is still very cuddly and enjoys to spend 30-45min in the morning just snuggeling up with us in bed, hugging, telling stories, about things he saw and did. Very sweet.

Healthwise we are doing ok, coughs and runny noses seem to be there all the time during winter, and Silvan loves to drink his cough-tea "das hilft" (that helps).

My graduation deadline is approaching and school work is crazy insanely busy, so much writing and rewriting, submitting, revising, analyzing, reanalyzing, talking, organizing and more is going on. Trying to catch my breath in the evenings and weekends when I enjoy my little family. Although I have been awake in the early morning hours and used this time to put in 1-2hrs of work.

Nobuhiro's deadline is a bit further away, but it will come as well. He has fun with is science side projects, and his been a great housekeeper (as always, but even more so lately).
