Reading Books

That child can never get never have enough books to read. "Mama lies das. Das ist deutsch. Ich kann dat nicht lesen." (Mama read that. This is German. I cannot read that) or "Das Japaaaaanisch. Papa read it." Das ist Japanisch - Papa liest das. Even at day care, when he wakes up from his nap and most other kids are still sleeping, he will read books to himself. He even "reads" books to the other children at daycare. A book (or three) when he wakes up, a book when he comes home, a book (or more) on the car ride to daycare, 2-3 books at bedtime. And then, we turn off the lights, and he lies there and starts telling stories about what happened today (or yesterday or some months ago), or what he read in a book. I love these quiet moments in the evenings.
