Schnitzel und die Feuerwehr
For weeks I have had a craving for some Schnitzel, and tonight was the night. N went to pick up Silvan from day care and I started preparing the Schnitzel (tonkatsu) with french fries and a salad. Just when my two guys returned home, I had fried enough Schnitzel so set of the smoke alarm. Silvan enjoyed eating the Schnitzel a lot (as did I), but more important to him was the questions when the firefighters would arrive and what would happen when they did, and if they would have masks, and bring their water pumps, and what he would do if there was a real fire, and when he would go outside, and where he would go to, and how to call the fire department, and .... . So many endless questions. It was fun to watch him struggle through those long and complex scenarios, and both N and I were really impressed how well he switched between German and Japanese to address questions to either one of us.
