We got up really early - with sunrise (6.30am) "my" race started across the Newport Pell Bridge. 6.5kms and 200ft at his highest point. Encouraged by a friend I had been practicing and had been running 2-3 a week.
I lined up with the slow runners (12min per mile), after the challenging pregnancy (PSI joint pains), and the difficult arrival of Nogusa I was truly out of shape. And I surprised myself by finishing in 39min. It felt great to pass so many people (my pace was closer to 9min per mile), and finish faster than I thought I would without it being to challenging. It was also a beautiful run in the early morning with the sun rising and the earth warming, the early morning sea breeze, and then my 3 guys waiting at the fnish :-)
Back home Silvan and I made 2 lanterns for St. Martin. We walked around the block singing the typical songs. Silvan told one of his stories, which have been getting more and more elaborate: he saw a green fox in the sky with lanterns in his mouth. He had a fox friend and they were carrying 6 mice on their back who were on their way to school. And as our family doctor said - all those growing neurons in their little brains that keep firing and connecting - who knows, he might have really seen a green fox in the sky. :-)
