Back to some traditional Christian holidays - it was the week before Easter, the last days of lent. In Germany Good Friday is a holiday - not so in the U.S. But I had missed the Good Friday concerts I used to go to in Germany so google helped me out one more time: KLICK ME.
The trinity church in Boston was playing Bach's Johannis Passion at 5.30pm. So, I sneaked out of work early that day and N. and I went up to Boston. We even had enough time to finally stop buy at Kotobukiya to stock up on our Japanese groceries. It is always fun to go there and explore the different items they have and try out new things.
But just on time - I freaked out just a tiny little bit, because traffic was really heavy - we made it to the concert in downtown Boston. They provided the text in German and English so everyone could follow along. They had several really cute errors in the text - they always happen in the music scores, but usually if one speaks the language they are easy to catch, it were mostly small things anyways. It was a cold evening and the sun had just set - it was a great atmosphere in the church, when the sun was setting during the concert and the glass stained windows lost their color as time went on.
Afterwards we had some sandwiches at a little pub nearby and drove home.
