The rocks were probably salty (I didn't taste them myself), but Silvan didn't really like them:
And just as a cute side story: There is a boy at day care, around Silvan's age. He does not enjoy being outside that much, his walk is still very unstable and he is a bit lonely and scared of the loud garbage truck. When I dropped off Silvan this morning, the little boy was standing alone with tears in his eyes. We went over to play with him at the slide. And Silvan gave the little boy a hug - twice. He did the same again this afternoon, when the boy was crying again outside. It was really adorable.
N. had also seen him try to distract a girl in his playgroup from crying by playing peek-a-booh with her.
Other times, he just rules the infant's room being the only walker. He came in with two branches with leaves as toys and was playing with them. Another boy wanted to have some as well and tried to take them away from Silvan - just how toddlers are. Silvan took the branch back from him, looked at it, ripped of a couple leaves and gave those to the boy. :-) Just some sweet stories of daycare life.
