I am trying to catch up, and will start with the visit of Oma and Opa. One week in October. This fall is strange, warmer and wetter than usual, plus the hurricane killed a lot of leaves. So we have new spring green mixed with mediocre colors and suddenly the leaves fall. To get the great colors typical for here, the weather didn't had it's own mind.
It was great that we decided to go to Martha's Vineyard instead of leaf peeping in the north. We took the noon time ferry, checked into our motel and went to see the painted cliffs at Gayhead:
We enjoyed the waves, the water and the view:
Close ups of the clay colors in the cliffs. Stunning colors and so many different shades:
Exploring the beach with Oma and view of Gayhead Lighthouse:
So much fun and joy:
Oma brought tons of wonderful books - this is now an favorite we read several times a day and all of us know almost by heart - Henriette Bimmelbahn:
