Homemade bagels

Silvan asked for homemade bagels - no problem thought his mom and pulled out a recipe. The recipe felt wrong from the beginning (hint No.1 don't use a German cookbook to bake American bagels). Well, they just did not really work out. The failed bagels bugged me so much I had to give it another shot and thanks to Julia Child and Silvan's helping hands the next recipe was sooo super yummy. They do need time, but its actually not that difficult!
