After Nemo our 2 frogs had tied. African Claw frogs like it warm and without power and temperatures hovering around -30C during the night our frogs had died. After much talking and discussion we decided to look for some local frog species which would be winter hardy, such as spring peepers or wood frogs. We contacted a vernal pool expert at URI and got some good tips on where to find tadpoles of wood frogs. One sunny afternoon in late April we met with our friends and went out to catch tadpoles.
