Climbing Mt Monadnock

Later in the afternoon two friends joint us and we started to climb our first mountain since S arrived! yeah! It's a short hike and Mt Monadnock stands alone, and is supposedly the 2nd most mountain in the world after Mount Fuji. The hike is much shorter. Friends had lent us a Kelty to carry the babe up the mountain, another friend carried camping stove and our dinner.


In between we rested and took a break and S could walk a bit.

Later we watched the fireworks in all directions and finally climbed back down with headlights and a bit of tumbling and searching the way - it took us a good 20min to find the entrance to the path, and sometimes we felt we might have missed the trail, but most of the time the markers were glowing in the dark; a bit like connecting the dots to paint.
