First Day

It was Silvan's first day at daycare. Ms.Lynn and Ms.Sarah welcomed him warmly and he had a lot of fun with the other children.

There had been a long list of things we had had to get ready for him from cloth diapers (which they use if requested), crib sheets (which I sewed), spare clothing, sunscreen, favorite toys to a signed copy of his last physical for the nurse at the daycare.

I checked on him and nursed him during lunch, but he did great. His daily report said "Silvan had a great first day. He had fun digging in the sandbox with a shovel and pail. He also liked walking around and exploring his new surroundings. " Yes, we we'll get from now on every day he goes a daily report, with comments, his mood, accidents, diaper changes, feeding times, sleeping times etc. Wow. It is nice, but also a bit crazy.

At night, we walked around the block with Silvan - he carried our first home grown cucumber half of the way, than we all shared and ate it; very yummy indeed. He still has some sailor legs, but the other day he walked unsupported most of the way from the library home. The library is our new hangout place to cool down from the heat. ;)

We are getting ready for the cruise in my lab during the first half of August, everythings is about testing the instruments, test cruises etc.
