You know it was a cold night, when there are frozen fractals growing on the inside of the windows.
I went for a run on the beach and found these beautiful icicles growing near the cliffs:
The ground was so cold that the retreating sea water left seasnow on the ground:
Of course the kids wanted to see and experience this as well, and we quickly hurried outside before the sunset:
As scientists, we are always impressed with the mirage we get to see at the horizon - the ocean is still so much warmer than the air, that the light bends and we get to see floating ships and stones:
